Dear Dharma brother and sisters,

We, the Sangha members of Jamchen Lhakhang Monastery are please to inform you about some of our activities to be held in our monastery after the Mahaparinirvana of His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.

As you know, the Sacred Rites and the Cremation Ceremony were successfully completed under the guidance of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche and His Eminence Khenchen Appey Rinpcohe, along with the sincere support of all the monks and lay devotees.

After these activities, we engaged in building the holy memorial stupas as well as the making of the holy Tsatsas. Within these, the making of holy Tsatsas is now completed and we started the distribution of them for the devotees. According to our plan, the two smaller holy memorial Stupas (5 feet high stupa made out of the sliver and gold which will be placed in his audience room and a 22 feet high stupa made out of the concrete which will stand on the ground where the cremation took place) are under construction and will be completed before His Eminence’s first Anniversary day which will fall on the 12th of January 2008 corresponding to the Tibetan Calendar 4th of the 12th month. On that auspicious day we are going to organize a five day program, which will includes the consecration of the two memorial Stupas and Holy Rites of Deity Hevajra to remark the first Anniversary of His Eminence’s parinivana. The event will be presided over by His Eminence Ratna Vajra Rinpoche who has graciously consented. The bigger Holy memorial Stupa project at his retreat house in Narayanthan will start as soon as possible after this first Anniversary.

Normally, we celebrate His Eminence birthday very elaborately every year, but due to the tradition, after Parinirvana of Masters, the anniversary day is more important. Therefore, no any program on his birthday in this year. So all the devout disciples of His Eminence are requested to join the Anniversary on the date as mentioned above.

The Annual Sakya Monlam Prayer Festival’s organizing committee turn is also our monastery and which will hold for ten days from 29th November to 8th December 2007. On the 9th of December 2007 our monastery is going to organize a big lamp offering and big Sangha gathering prayer at the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

After His Eminence’s Parinirvana, His Holiness advised our monastery to perform some important deity’s Drub-choed (ritual rites) to accomplish the holy wishes of His Eminence and to benefit sentient beings. Respectfully to respond the blessed advice of His Holiness Sakya Trizin, our monastery confirmed to perform Drub-Choed on different deities such as Vajrayogini, Hevajra and Mahavairocana. To commence it, a seven-day Vajrayogini Drub-Choed will perform from 21-27 of 9th month of Tibetan calendar (31st October to 5th November 2007) during the day Buddha descended from Heaven. The seven-days deity Hevajra Drub-Choed will perform during the His Eminence’s first anniversary date (11 to 17th January 2008) mentioned as above. Mahavairocana’s Drub-choed will be performing in summer but the date is not yet confirm.
