This website is an offering. An offering to my precious teacher and heart father, His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche - Ngawang Khyenrab Lekshey Gyatsho, all dharma companions and anyone who cast eye on this website.
The undertaking of this website began short after I met Rinpoche in Nepal in October 2000. It is my greatest blessing in this life to have the fortune to meet Rinpoche. Not only is Rinpoche one of the glorious and oldest living Tibetan Buddhist masters of our time, Rinpoche is also a scholar, a poet and truly compassionate teacher. Rinpoche possesses the compassion of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, the wisdom of Bodhisattva Manjushri and the power of Bodhisattva Vajrapani. Rinpoche embodies the wisdom, compassion and activities of Lord Buddha. It is through the kindness of Rinpoche that I and others of equal fortune have met with the supreme teachings of Lord Buddha.
As Rinpoche’s disciple, I was naturally interested to learn more about Rinpoche. However, I discovered that little had been written on the topic. Hence with Rinpoche's permission, I have undertaken to build a website focusing on Rinpoche and the Tsharpa branch of the Sakya Tradition. This undertaking has been a humble and learning experience. In compiling this website, I based my research on writings of Rinpoche and others and information on the Internet. This website by no means provides a comprehensive account on Rinpoche and the Sakya Tradition but I hope this is a start and that visitors will find some useful information. Needless to say, I take full responsibility for any shortcoming of this website.
With Rinpoche’s blessings, the English version of the website officially launched on the auspicious occasion of Rinpoche's 83rd birthday on September 2001. I am very happy that we are now able to provide a Chinese version of the website for our Chinese readers. The Chinese website will be built in phases and we wish to ultimately provide a complete bi-lingual website in English and Chinese. With Rinpoche’s permission, the Chinese version will officially launch on the auspicious occasion of Rinpoche's 87th birthday on October 7, 2005. May I request all visitors of this website join me to wish Rinpoche a very happy and prosperous birthday, with heartiest prayers for Rinpoche's good health and long life and may all of Rinpoche's wishes be accomplished.
May whatever small merits accumulated by all who contributed to this website be dedicated to the swift enlightenment of all beings;
May the holy Dharma flourish in all aeons;
May the lives of all precious masters be secured;
May all beings find happiness and peace;
May all beings be guided by a holy teacher; and
May all beings accumulate merit and wisdom to pacify all negative karma and achieve liberation and enlightenment.
